The PerDire project team also participated in the event "Night of Scientists 2022", which took place on September 30, 2022 and is held annually throughout Europe to popularize science and scientific achievements, demonstrating research methods for research participants: fundus imaging, deep determination of glycation products in the skin, determination of glucose level with a glucometer, determination of arterial blood pressure.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about diabetes and its complications, diabetic retinopathy, analysis of fundus images, what is normal blood pressure and sugar level. Those interested could assume the role of a scientist and a doctor, performing the above-mentioned measurements independently under the guidance of scientists.

On the other hand, during the event, the team of the FLPP project "Association between glucose variability, intestinal disorders and the progression of diabetic nephropathy in type 1 diabetes patients" demonstrated the continuous glucose monitoring system to the visitors, explaining its working principle and application in medical practice and research. Visitors were also told about the phenomenon of increased intestinal permeability, its possible connection with diet and glucose level fluctuations in diabetic patients.

More than 200 interested people had their capillary blood glucose levels determined
